Analog Devices Multisim allows electronics engineers to create and enter schematics of electronics product, perform simulation, evaluate performance. During the design of circuit board schematics electronics components have to be added which can be easily done from the database. If there is no parts available then new part can be created. The parts footprints search can also be performed and associated with the part. In Multisim the different color of the components in the schematics shows which component has available simulation model and footprint and which components has only simulation property. Once the ERC checks, simulation analysis is performed the schematics to pcb layout transfer can be done.

The transfer of schematics from Multiboard to Ultiboard is easy with simple few step clicks. Once the transfer is complete the Ultiboard software is used for pcb production process that involves creating board outline, the mechanical holes, annotation, manual and auto-routing, layer assignment, power and ground plane assignment etc. Once the PCB board design is completed the Gerber PCB file, DFX files for pcb production can be generated and sent to the pcb manufacturer.
